“What changes in nature is restored with one wheel of the seasons. What comes from the earth always returns. What flourishes, dies away to bloom again.”

- Shantaram -

Wild Apothecary, at its core, is a love letter to nature. I've found more peace, inspiration and healing amongst trees, flowers, water and rock, than anywhere else in my life. My journey as an herbalist has led me to fall in love with the interconnectedness of the natural world: how the elements affect plant life, how plants relate to animals, how every living thing adapts and evolves as the seasons change. We as humans are a part of this natural rhythm, and at our core we all feel called to it. But our lifestyles and environments have created distance between us and the natural world. We're more used to the sight of concrete and screens than mountains or stars, we're more familiar with the noise of traffic and alarms than the sound of wind playing with the leaves of trees, we smell exhaust and chemicals more than the scent of wild flowers.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order”

- John Barroughs -

Meanwhile, as we rush around living our "modern" lives, the natural world never ceases to provide for us. It's a beautiful experience to become truly aware of that fact. Each season of each year we can depend on Mother Nature to produce a plethora of herbs, trees, and flowers with incredible properties that can be used to support and nourish our bodies, minds and spirits. Some energize, some calm and soothe, some ease inflammation or strengthen the immune system, some promote wound-healing, both physical and emotional, and others uplift in times of depression. Plants have their own abilities and personalities and are as individual as we are. They are very much alive, and they selflessly offer their essence to help us thrive. Many of us just aren't aware that this supportive world is always surrounding us, and that is what I hope to address through Wild Apothecary.

Some of this may sound a little too "hippie" or "out there" for you, and that's ok, this is the Philosophy section after all. Take what you want and leave the rest. At the end of the day, I just want to help others get more in touch with their whole self, feel their best, and cultivate gratitude for the natural world around us, and I hope that comes across in my products.

Please be assured that all Wild Apothecary products are lovingly made by hand in small batches and infused with positive intention and the energy of nature. Many ingredients are responsibly wild-harvested from right here in the Pyrenees, and those that don’t grow locally are high quality, sustainably sourced, and organic whenever possible.
